The Earth is the third planet in order of distance from the Sun and the largest of the terrestrial planets in the Solar System, both in mass and size. Its surface contains water in all three states of aggregation (solid, liquid, and gaseous) and an atmosphere composed mainly of nitrogen and oxygen, which, together with the magnetic field that surrounds the planet, protects its biosphere from cosmic and solar radiation. As the only planetary body in the solar system capable of supporting life as humanity understands and knows it, it is the only place where all known living species live.

After Yuri Gagarin’s achievement, it is known as the “Blue Planet”, which comes from the words uttered by the first man to see it from space.
