Mean

In statistics, the average is a single numerical value that succinctly describes a set of data. There are different types of averages that can be chosen to describe a phenomenon: the ones most commonly employed are the three so-called Pythagorean averages (arithmetic, geometric, and harmonic). In ordinary language, the term average is commonly used to mean the arithmetic mean. It is the most commonly used position index.
